Cooktop does not work

Cause

Cooktop controls are locked.

Solution
  • See Using Child Lock to turn off the Child Lock feature.

Cause

Circuit breaker has tripped or fuse is blown.

Solution
  • Reset the circuit breaker.

Cause

Power outage.

Solution
  • Check house lights to confirm power outage.

Cause

Installation wiring not complete.

Solution
  • Contact the installer or dealer.

Cooktop does not heat

Cause

Incorrect element selected.

Solution
  • Make sure the correct control is ON for the element being used.

Cause

No power to cooktop.

Solution
  • See “Cooktop does not work” above.

Elements turn off while cooking.

Cause

Cooktop inner temperature is too high.

Solution
  • Check that cooktop has been installed according to the installation instructions.

Elements do not get hot enough.

Cause

Control panel may not be set properly.

Solution
  • Check the power level.

Cause

Cookware may not be the correct size or may have a flat bottom.

Solution
  • Use the recommended cookware. See Cookware section.

A fan sound can be heard.

Cause

Cooktop inner temperature is high.

Solution
  • This is normal.

    The cooling fan will run when any element is turned on. With heavy use the fan may continue to run after the controls are turned off until the cooktop has cooled.
