Overview of Connections

Connect the drain hose to either a standpipe or laundry tub.The drain hose should always be properly secured. Failure to properly secure the drain hose can result in flooding and property damage. The drain must be installed in accordance with any applicable local codes and regulations.Make sure that the drain hose is not stretched, pinched, crushed, or kinked. The end of the drain hose should be located a minimum of 24 inches (61 cm) and a maximum of 96 inches (244 cm) above the bottom of the washer. For best results, locate the end of the drain hose no higher than 66 inches (168 cm) above the bottom of the washer. As the drain outlet is raised beyond 66 inches (168 cm), the drain function will be increasingly affected.Never create an airtight seal between the hose and the drain with tape or other means. If no air gap is present, water can be siphoned out of the drum resulting in poor wash/rinse performance or clothing damage.Band ClampsTie Straps

Connecting the Drain Hose to the Pedestal Washer

Insert the band clamp onto the drain hose elbow. Pliers may be required to open the clamp so it can be fitted to the rubber end of the hose. With the hose leading up from the elbow, firmly insert the elbow onto the drain outlet on the back of the pedestal washer.Adjust the band clamp with pliers to keep the hose securely in place and prevent leaking.

Connecting the Drain Connector

Insert the included band clamps on to the ends of the two drain hoses.Connect the drain hose of the front-loading washer and the pedestal washer to the drain connector.Insert the end of the drain hose connector into the laundry tub or standpipe. Use the band clamps to keep it in place, if needed.Depending on the installation environment, you may have to purchase a separate drain hose connector. The connector supplied will suit a standard laundry tub-side standpipe.
