Connect the drain hose to either a standpipe or laundry tub.
The drain hose should always be properly secured. Failure to properly secure the drain hose can result in flooding and property damage.
The drain must be installed in accordance with any applicable local codes and regulations.
Make sure that the drain hose is not stretched, pinched, crushed, or kinked.
The end of the drain hose should be located a minimum of 24" (61 cm) and a maximum of 96" (244 cm) above the bottom of the washer. For best results, locate the end of the drain hose no higher than 66" (168 cm) above the bottom of the washer. As the drain outlet is raised beyond 66" (168 cm), the drain function will be increasingly affected.
If you are experiencing backflow or residual water in the dryer reservoir, try reducing the height of the dryer drain hose end to lower than 38" above the base of the washer.
Never create an airtight seal between the hose and the drain with tape or other means. If no air gap is present, water can be siphoned out of the drum resulting in poor wash/rinse performance or clothing damage.
Connecting the Drain Hose to the Dryer
Remove the stamped area on the middle of the bracket to make an opening for the drain hose of the dryer.Insert the hose clamp a onto the drain hose of the dryer.Connect the drain hose of the dryer and secure the hose clamp.Loosen the screw b on the stack bracket.Screw in the band to secure the drain hose of the dryer onto the stacking bracket.Use the provided tie strap c to secure the 2 drain hoses in place.If the drain hose is too long, do not force it back into the appliance. This will cause abnormal noise.
Connecting Hoses to the Drain Hose Connector
Slide the included band clamp onto the end of the drain hose of the washer.Connect the drain hoses from the washer and dryer to the drain hose connector. Tighten the band clamp a to keep the washer hose in place.Use the band clamp b on the short drain hose (included) to attach it to the bottom opening of the drain hose connector.Securely connect the short drain hose to a floor drain or standpipe.When connecting to a waste spigot, use a band clamp c on the end of the short drain hose.Adjust the wire hose clamp to prevent the hose from coming loose or leaking. Failure to do so could result in flooding. Use of the drain hose connector helps avoid siphoning, odors, or improper draining.Make sure the drain hoses are not kinked or pinched. This is a potential cause of drainage problems or noise.
Using a Standpipe to Drain

Use the provided tie strap b to secure the drain hose in place. If the water valves and drain are built into the wall, fasten the drain hose to one of the water hoses with the provided tie strap c (ribbed side on inside).
Using the Laundry Tub to Drain
Clip the end of the hose for washer into the elbow bracket.Hang the end of the drain hose over the side of the laundry tub.Use the provided tie strap to secure the drain hose in place.
