Restoring the system

If the computer fails to boot or continually fails to update, you should restore the system.
CAUTION
  • All data stored in the system including account information, photos, apps and downloaded files as well as data synched with your Google account will be deleted.
TIP
To restore the system, you need the followings:

Create a Restoration Flash Drive

Please refer to the following to download the restoration tool to another computer and create a restoration flash driver according to the guide.

Please use the ‘$ sudo chmod 755 linux_recovery.sh’ command to change your permission level to run scripts.
Use the ‘sudo bash linux_recovery.sh’ command and run scripts with root permission.

Restore the System

  1. Turn off the LG Chromebase.
  2. While keep pressing the recovery button inside the Kensington lock, press the button to turn on LG Chromebase.
    (You may need a flat-head driver to press the recovery button.)

  3. When the power is turned on and the following screen is displayed, connect the restoration flash driver to the USB port of the LG Chromebase.

  4. Proceed with restoration according to the guide displayed on the screen.
  5. When restoration is successfully completed, a message is displayed telling you to remove the drive.
  6. Remove the drive so that the system will reboot automatically.
