Using the Optical Disk Drive
The optical disk drive (ODD: Optical Disk Drive) allows the user to use CD, DVD and other media.
The read/write speed of the optical disk drive may vary according to different kinds of media.
The model displayed may vary from the actual model.
Optical disk drive types and specifications may differ by model type.
If you use a cracked or broken media, it may be further damaged during use, causing the product to malfunction.
The lower side of the media (playing part) is for reading and writing, so be careful not to scratch it or bring it in contact with foreign substances.
Do not use benzene or thinner to clean a CD.
Use a soft cloth to clean the media. Rub it slowly from the center outwards.
When the operation lamp is on, the media is being used. Do not attempt to remove it.
Hold the media only at the edges or in the center.
The media may not function properly if there are foreign substances or fingerprints on its lower side (playing side).
General Model

While the computer is turned on, press the [Open/Eject] button.

When the tray is ejected, place the media with the printed side up into its molding.

Push the tray gently with your hand or press the open/close button to insert the tray.
Slim Model

While the computer is turned on, open the input/output cover and press the [Open/Eject] button.

When the tray is ejected, place the media with the printed side up into its molding.

This model adopted slim design for efficient use of space and the optical disk (CD/DVD) drive is vertically installed.
Therefore, a small sized CD title (80 mm) may not be properly inserted.
To use small media (80 mm), lay the device broadwise down to insert the media.
