Operation instructions
- Display
When the fridge is turned on, the display screen lights up for 3 seconds.
The default fridge and freezer temperatures are 5 ℃ and -18 ℃.
When the error occurs, the display shows the error code (refer to the Error Indication section).
Under normal circumstances, if there is no operation on the display panel or door opening action within 30 seconds, then the display is locked.
- Lock / Unlock
To lock the control panel buttons, press and hold the Lock button for 3 seconds in the unlocked state until the function is activated.
To disable the function, press and hold the Lock button for 3 seconds until the function is deactivated.
- Setting the temperature of the fridge compartment
Press the Fridge/Freezer button to choose the setting temperature zone of the fridge compartment, and then press the Temp. Control button to adjust the setting temperature of the fridge compartment.
The temperature setting range for the fridge compartment is between 2 ℃ and 8 ℃.
- Setting the temperature of the freezer compartment
Press the Fridge/Freezer button to choose the setting temperature zone of the freezer compartment, and then press the Temp. Control button to adjust the setting temperature of the freezer compartment.
The temperature setting range for the freezer compartment is between -23 ℃ and -15 ℃.
- Setting the Smart and Express Freeze modes
Smart mode
In the Smart mode, the temperature of the fridge and freezer compartment is automatically set to 5 ℃ and -18 ℃.
To disable the mode manually, press the Temp. Control button. After exiting the Smart mode, the temperature of the fridge and freezer compartment will automatically return to the temperature set before the mode.
Express Freeze mode
In the Express Freeze mode, the temperature of the freezer compartment is automatically set to -24 ℃.
The Express Freeze mode automatically exits after 48 hours. To disable the mode manually, press the Temp. Control button. After exiting the Express Freeze mode, the temperature of the freezer compartment will automatically return to the temperature set before the mode.
- Fridge Off mode
To set the fridge off mode, press the Fridge/Freezer button to choose the setting temperature zone of the fridge compartment, and then hold the Temp. Control button for 3 seconds.
To disable the mode manually, press the Fridge/Freezer button to choose the setting temperature zone of the fridge compartment, and then hold the Temp. Control button for 3 seconds.
In the fridge off mode, -- is indicated on the display.
- Error Indication
If a problem is detected, the appliance may not operate and an error code is displayed even when any button is pressed.
If an error code is indicated on the display, do not turn off the power. Immediately contact the LG Electronics customer information centre and report the error code. If you turn off the power, the repair technician from the our information centre may have difficulty finding the problem.
This locks the buttons on the control panel.
Press the Function button repeatedly to set to the Smart mode or the Express Freeze mode. After 5 seconds of idle time, the mode set will be saved.
The appliance can automatically detect problems during the operation.

For optimal food preservation, increasing or decreasing 1 °C from the default temperature is recommended for each compartment.
The control panel automatically turns off for energy saving.
If there is any finger or skin contacts to the control panel while cleaning it, the button function may operate.
The actual inner temperature varies depending on the food status, as the indicated setting temperature is a target temperature, not actual temperature within the appliance.
In the event of a power outage, the operating state is immediately locked and remains until connecting the power again.
