Operation

Air conditioner does not start.

Cause

The air conditioner is unplugged.

Solution

  • Make sure the air conditioner plug is pushed completely into the outlet.

Cause

The fuse is blown/circuit breaker is tripped.

Solution

  • Check the house fuse/circuit breaker box and replace the fuse or reset the breaker.

Cause

Power failure.

Solution

  • If power failure occurs, turn the mode control to off. When power is restored, wait 3 minutes to restart the air conditioner to prevent tripping of the compressor overload.

Air conditioner does not cool as it should.

Cause

Airflow is restricted.

Solution

  • Make sure there are no curtains, blinds, or furniture blocking the front of the air conditioner.

Cause

The temp control may not be set correctly.

Solution

  • Set the desired temperature to a level lower than the current temperature.

Cause

The air filter is dirty.

Solution

  • Clean the filter at least every 2 weeks. See the MAINTENANCE section.

Cause

The room may have been hot.

Solution

  • When the air conditioner is first turned on, you need to allow time for the room to cool down.

Cause

Cold air is escaping.

Solution

  • Check for open fumace floor registers and cold air returns.

Cause

Cooling coils have iced up.

Solution

  • See ‘Air conditioner freezing up’ below.

Air conditioner freezing up.

Cause

The cooling coils are iced over.

Solution

  • Ice may block the airflow and obstruct the air conditioner from properly cooling the room. Set the mode control at High Fan or High Cool.

Water drips outside.

Cause

Hot, humid weather.

Solution

  • This is normal.

Water collects in base pan.

Cause

Moisture reduced from air and drains into base pan.

Solution

  • This is normal for a short period in areas with little humidity; normal for a longer period in very humid areas.

Air conditioner turns on and off rapidly.

Cause

Dirty air filter - air restricted.

Solution

  • Clean air filter.

Cause

Outside temperature extremely hot.

Solution

  • Refer to installation instructions or check with installer.

Noise when unit is cooling.

Cause

Air movement sound.

Solution

  • This is normal. If too loud, set to lower fan setting.

Cause

Window vibration - poor installation.

Solution

  • Refer to installation instructions or check with installer.

Room too cold.

Cause

Set temperature too low.

Solution

  • Increase set temperature.

Remote sensing deactivating prematurely.

Cause

Remote control not located within range.

Solution

  • Place remote control within 5 m & 45° radius of the front of the unit.

Cause

Remote control signal obstructed.

Solution

  • Remove obstruction.

The appliance is operating, but nothing is visible on the control panel.

Cause

The brightness of the control panel is set to off.

Solution

  • Press and hold the Mode button for about 3 seconds to adjust the brightness.

The appliance still operates after turning it off.

Cause

The automatic drying function removes moisture from inside the product by blowing air for a certain period of time, even after operation has stopped.

Solution

  • The appliance will automatically turn off when the drying function is complete.
