Defrosting Mode

The defrost function provides the defrosting method for frozen foods. The range of weight is 0.1 - 2.0 kg.

  • Press STOP/Cancel.

  • Press Defrost.

  • Select a desired weight by using More/Less, and press START/Select.

    • The countdown appears in the display.

  • At the beep, open the door and remove any portions that have thawed and turn the food over.

    Note
    • If half the defrost time passes, the oven sounds twice.

  • Press START/Select to resume the defrost cycle.

Note
  • Remove fish, shellfish, meat, and poultry from its original wrapping paper or plastic package. Otherwise, the wrap will hold steam and juice close to the foods, which can cause the outer surface of the foods to cook.

  • Place foods in a shallow container or on a microwave roasting rack to catch drippings.

  • Food should still be somewhat icy in the centre when removed from the oven.

  • The length of defrosting time varies according to how solidly the food is frozen.

  • The shape of the package affects how quickly food will defrost. Shallow packages will defrost more quickly than a deep block.

  • Depending on the shape of the food can be defrosted more or less.
