  • The use of this device does not preclude tipping of the range when not properly installed.

  • This range has been designed to meet all recognized industry tip standards for all normal conditions.

  • The installation of the anti-tip device must meet all local codes for securing the appliance.

Engaging the Anti-tip Device

The range is supplied with anti-tipping chains to prevent the appliance from tilting forward or causing accidental damage to the gas pipe.

To install the anti-tip device, follow the steps below:

  • If the anti-tip device is to be mounted to drywall, use a drill with an 8 mm (5/16”) drill bit to drill two holes as shown.

    1. Hole

  • Insert the wall anchors into the holes and screw in the hooks until they are firmly fixed to the wall, with the opening facing up.

    2. Anchor

    3. Hook

  • Use a screwdriver to remove the screws shown below from the rear of the range.

    1. Screw

  • Insert the link on the end of one chain over the shank of a screw, insert the screw back in the rear of the range, and tighten it to firmly hold the chain in place. Repeat on the other side.

    1. Chain

    Note
    • Before moving the range into the enclosure, loop a string through the free end of the chain and tape the ends of the string to the top of the range. Repeat with the chain on the other side.

  • Slide the range partially into place in the enclosure, leaving enough space behind it to reach the hooks. Use the string loops to grab the end of each chain. Attach the end of the chain to the hook and slide a transparent sheath over the end of the hook.

    5. Chain

Note
  • Be sure to assemble the transparent sheaths on the hooks. The transparent sheaths prevent the chains from sliding off of the hooks.

  • To reduce the risk of tipping, both the left and right anti-tip devices must be properly installed.
