Using the Gas Surface Burners

Warning
  • When using the cooktop burner, the top cover must be open. The top cover is made of glass to resist high temperatures but must be handled with care to avoid any damage.

    1. Top Cover

  • Do not shut lid when burners are alight.

Caution
  • Match the size of the cooktop burner or element to the size of the cookware in use. Using a large element for a small pan wastes heating energy, and the exposed surface of the element is a burn or fire hazard.

  • Be sure that all of the surface burners and grates are placed in the correct positions.

  • Place cookware on the grate.

  • Push the control knob in and turn to the position Hi to light the burner.

    Note
    • Pushing the knob activates the electric spark ignition system.

    • The electric spark ignition system makes a clicking noise.

  • Turn the control knob to control the flame size.

    Caution
    • Do not attempt to disassemble or clean around any burner while another burner is on. All the burners spark when any burner is pushed. An electric shock may result causing you to knock over hot cookware.

    • Be sure to turn the knobs to OFF (#) position when finished using the burners or the oven.
