Water Supply Requirements
A cold water supply with water pressure between 138 kPa and 827 kPa (1.4-8.4 kgf/cm²) is required to operate the water dispenser. If the refrigerator is installed in an area with low water pressure (below 138 kPa), you can install a booster pump to compensate for the low pressure. If a reverse osmosis water filtration system is connected to your cold water supply, the water pressure to the reverse osmosis system needs to be a minimum of 138 kPa to 827 kPa (1.4-8.4 kgf/cm²)Unplug the appliance before carrying out any work on connecting the water line. Failure to do so may cause electric shock.Only connect the water line to a cold water supply. Failure to do so may cause the water filter to malfunction. Water hammer (water banging in the pipes) in house plumbing can cause damage to appliance parts and can lead to water leakage or flooding.Connect to potable water supply only.Use a new hose when connecting water to the appliance. Do not use old, worn or used hoses.Connecting the water line must only be installed by a qualified plumber and in accordance with local legislation and regulations governing water quality. This water line installation is not covered by the appliance warranty.
Connecting Water to the Appliance
Connect the tubing to the shutoff valve.Place the compression nut and ferrule (sleeve) onto the end of the copper tubing and connect it to the shutoff valve. If you are using PEX, the tubing may already have the required fittings at either end. Make sure the tubing is fully inserted into the valve. Tighten the compression nut securely.Packing NutShutoff ValveCompression NutFerrule (sleeve)Flush out the tubing into a bucket.Flush out the tubing coming from the home water supply until the water is clear. Shut the water off at the water valve after about one quart of water has been flushed through the tubing. Before making the connection to the appliance, be sure that the appliance power cord is not plugged into the wall outlet.Remove the flexible plastic cap from the water valve on the appliance.Place the compression nut and ferrule (sleeve) onto the end of the tubing as shown. If you are using a PEX connection kit, it may already have the required fittings.Insert the end of the copper or PEX tubing into the connection as far as possible. While holding the tubing, tighten the fitting.Tubing Clamp¼ in. (6,35 mm) Tubing¼ in.
