Converting the Surface Burners

Caution
  • Before proceeding with the conversion, shut off the gas supply to the appliance prior to disconnecting the electrical power.

  • Be careful when working on the handling of sheet metal parts of your gas range.

  • To avoid burns, do not convert gas types until the cooktop surface has cooled.

  • Remove grates, burner caps and burner heads.

    1. Burner Cap

    2. Burner Head

    3. Burner Body

    4. Nozzle

  • Remove the brass nozzle in the chimney of each burner using a 5/16” or 8 mm nut driver.

  • Replace it with an appropriate nozzle for the new type of gas (see "Before Converting the Gas”).

    Note
    • To prevent leakage, make sure the nozzles are securely screwed into the gas supply tubes.

  • Place each burner head on the burner body. Position the relevant burner cap exactly on top of the burner head.

Note
  • If the size of low flame (simmer) seems not normal after the gas conversion, see "Surface Burners" section to adjust the low flame (simmer) setting.
