Control Panel

Dispenser Control Panel

  1. Fridge

    Press this button repeatedly to select a desired temperature between 1 ℃ and 7 ℃.

    • The default fridge temperature is 3 ℃.

    • When the Convertible function is on, you can make the fridge compartment idle by setting the temperature to ‘- -’.

      • To make the fridge compartment idle, press the Fridge button repeatedly to select ‘- -’.

      • The fridge compartment temperature remains below 15 ℃ in this setting.

    Note

    • The actual inner temperature varies depending on the food status, as the indicated setting temperature is a target temperature, not actual temperature within the appliance.

    • Remove all food and drinks and clean the fridge compartment before setting it to idle. Otherwise, leftover food and drinks can spoil, causing bacteria, mold, bugs and odors because the fridge compartment is not cool enough.

    • When using the fridge compartment for refrigeration again, open the door to ventilate the fridge and clean it before use.

    • If the refrigerator temperature is set to '- -', empty the water tank as the water dispenser will not function.

  2. Non Plumbing

    The Non Plumbing icon is illuminated when the water dispenser tank is installed correctly.

  3. Freezer

    Press this button repeatedly to select a desired temperature between -23 ℃ and -15 ℃ or 3 ℃.

    • The default freezer temperature is -18 ℃.

    • When the Convertible function is on, the temperature of the freezer is set to 3 ℃. You can use the freezer compartment as a fridge.

  4. Convertible*1

    This function allows you to use the freezer compartment as a fridge.

    • Press and hold the button for three seconds to activate/disable the function.

    • When the Convertible function is on, the temperature of the freezer is set to 3 ℃.

    • Before using the Convertible function, empty the food in the freezer and remove the ice from the ice bucket and tray. Refer to the instructions below on how to remove the ice. If the ice is not removed, the remaining ice may melt and water may leak.

  5. Wi-Fi*1

    This button allows the appliance to connect to a home Wi-Fi network. Refer to Smart Functions for information on the initial setup of the LG ThinQ application.

  6. Express Cool

    This function can quickly cool a large amount of foods such as vegetable, fruit and so on.

    • This function is enabled and disabled in turn each time you press the button.

    • This function automatically terminates after a specific period has passed.

    • Even if the Convertible function is on, Express Cool function only works in the fridge compartment.

  7. Self Care*1

    UV light is used to keep the water outlet clean. UV clean function runs automatically for 10 minutes every hour or can be manually activated at anytime.

    Press and hold the button for three seconds to activate it manually.

  8. Express Freeze

    This function can quickly freeze a large amount of ice or frozen foods.

    • Press the Express Freeze button to activate the function for 24 hours. The function automatically shuts off after 24 hours.

    • This function is enabled and disabled in turn each time you press the button.

    • This function automatically terminates after a specific period has passed.

    • When the Convertible function is on, this function becomes inactive.

  9. Ice On/Off

    Press and hold the Ice On/Off button for three seconds to turn the automatic icemaker On/Off.

    • This feature is disabled when using the Convertible function.

  10. Lock

    The lock function disables every other button on the display.

    • To lock the control panel buttons, press and hold the Lock button for 3 seconds until indicator light turns on and the function is activated.

    • To disable the function, press and hold the Lock button for 3 seconds until the indicator light turns off and the function is deactivated.

  11. Water & Ice Type*1

    Select the desired dispenser mode from the buttons on the dispenser control panel. Press the dispenser switch with a glass or other container to dispense cubed ice, water or crushed ice.

    • When using the Convertible function, ice dispensing is not possible.

    • If the refrigerator temperature is changed to '- -' to put it in idle mode while using the Convertible function, both ice dispensing and water dispensing are not possible.

Note

  • The displayed temperature is the target temperature, and not the actual temperature inside the appliance.

  • The actual temperature inside the appliance depends on the following factors: room temperature, the amount of food and how often the doors are opened, where the appliance is. Set the temperatures by considering these factors.

  • The control panel automatically turns off for energy saving.

  • When the appliance is in the energy saving mode, the display remains off until a door is opened or a button is pressed. Once on, the display remains on for 20 seconds.

  • If there is any finger or skin contacts to the control panel while cleaning it, the button function may operate.

  • This appliance incorporates an earth connection for functional purposes only.

How to remove ice when using the Convertible function

  • Hold the ice bucket with both hands and pull it out while lifting it upward.

  • Empty the ice in the ice bucket.

  • Place a bowl underneath to catch the ice.

  • Press the Test button to remove the ice from the tray.

  • Refit the in-door ice bucket in the reverse sequence of their removal.

    Caution

    • If the ice is not removed, the buzzer may sound after a certain period of time. If the buzzer sounds, follow the above method. If the buzzer continues for a certain period of time, it will turn off and the ice will be forcibly dropped from the tray.
