Filters and Condenser Cleaning

Caution

  • Refer to the following instructions for proper cleaning of the filters. Failure to do so can cause lint buildup on the condenser that can affect the drying performance.

Note

  • Cleaning the filters will reduce drying time and energy consumption and prevent unnecessary malfunctions.

  • After cleaning the filters, insert it back into place. The appliance will not operate without the lint filter in place.

  1. Lint Filter

    • Always clean the lint filter before and after use.

  2. Condenser Filter

    • Clean the inner filter after drying 10 times or when the lint has accumulated on the condenser filter.

Cleaning the Lint Filter

  • Grip the external filter cover and pull it toward you to remove it.

  • Hold the filter assembly over a trash can and pull the handle on the front of the filter to slide the mesh filter off as shown.

  • Sliding off the filter automatically removes the lint. To clean off any residual lint, use a vacuum cleaner or rinse the mesh filter under running water.

    • The filter must be completely dry before using or it could cause an unpleasant odor.

    Caution

    • Do not tap the filter repeatedly as the built-in magnet may dislodge and cause a malfunction.

  • After drying the lint filter completely, reassemble it into the cover.

    • Align the two grooves on the filter and filter cover. Push the mesh filter all the way onto the cover until it clicks into place.

  • Insert the filter assembly into the product.

    1. Align the two grooves at the back of the filter to the slots in the product.

    2. Slide the back into place and lower the front of the filter to assemble.

Cleaning the Condenser Filter

  • Grip the external filter cover and pull it towards you to remove it.

  • LG recommends periodic cleaning of the condenser area for thorough cleaning. The condenser filter is fixed with a magnet. Please remove it by pulling it. To clean off any residual lint, use a vacuum cleaner or rinse the mesh filter under running water.

    • The filter must be completely dry before using or it could cause an unpleasant odor.

  • Grip the internal filter and pull straight out to remove. Rinse it under running water.

    • The filter must be completely dry before using or it could cause an unpleasant odor.

  • Clean the inside thoroughly with a nylon brush. Do not touch the condenser fins with bare hands. After cleaning, reassemble the condenser filter.

  • Clean the passage behind the circular filter with a brush.

  • Reassemble the internal filter and the external filter assembly.

    Caution

    • If the lint drops into the filter inlet, it may affect the drying performance and increase drying time.
